▪️Gangotri National Park


🔸Gangotri National Park was established in 1989 and is situated in Uttarkashi, Uttrakhand, in the upper catchment of Bhagirathi River.

🔸Gaumukh at Gangotri glacier, the origin of river Ganga, is located inside the park.

🔸The park area forms a viable continuity between Govind National Park and Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary.

🔸Flora: The park is enveloped by dense coniferous forests that are mostly temperate. Chirpine, deodar, fir, spruce, oak and rhododendron are the common vegetation.

🔸Fauna: Various rare and endangered species like bharal or blue sheep, black bear, brown bear, himalayan monal, himalayan snowcock, himalayan tahr, musk deer and snow leopard are found in the park.

🔸Oldest NP in India, established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect
the endangered Bengal Tiger.

🔸 It is located in Nainital district and Pauri
Garhwal district of Uttarakhand .

🔸Named after Jim Corbett, well known hunter

🔸 The park was the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative.

🔸 Ramganga river flows through the National park

🔸The core area forms the Jim Corbett National Park while the buffer contains reserve forests as well as the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary

Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in
North Chamoli, in the state of Uttarakhand.

▪️known for Its Meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora.

▪️Representative of the Western Himalayan alpine shrub and meadows eco-region.

▪️The rich diversity of species reflects the valley's location within a transition zone between the Zanskar and Great Himalayas ranges to the north and south, respectively, and between the Eastern Himalaya and Western Himalaya flora
