District mineral Foundation funds :-
DMFs is a trust setup as non-profit body under the Ministry of Mines through The Mines and Mineral (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, MMDRA, 2015.
Objective :- The objective is to work for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by Mining related operations in those districts affected by mining works.
Under MMDRA, 2015 Act , mining lease holder are required to make contribution to DMFs Funds
Collection of funds:- The fund is collected at the districts level .
Utilisation of Funds :-
- 60% fund is utilised for highly priority areas such as Drinking water Supply, Health, Sanitation, Education, skill development, women and child care welfare, Aged and disabled persons and environment conservation
- 40% fund is utilised for Physical infrastructure , irritation energy and watershed development.
Jurisdiction:- It comes under the jurisdiction of relevant state Government.
PRADHANMNTRI KHANIJ KSHETRA KALYAN YOJNA:-
The programme is meant to provide for the welfare of areas and people affected by mining related operations, using the funds generated by District Mineral Foundations (DMFs).
Objective :- To minimize or mitigate the adverse impacts during and after mining on the environment health and social economic condition of people in mining district and also to ensure sustainble livelihood for the affected people.
Launched :- 17 September 2015
Implementation:- It is implements by DMFs of the respective diatricts that use the funds collected by DMFs from the mines.
